Both mirrors have adjusters for precise calibration.
This is one of the favorites for those wanting simple to use, rack and pinon adjustment and look old.
The arm features a magnifying lens ( with height adjustment for any eye difference). The slow motion has very fine threads for extra fine adjustment , and just loosen the finger screw for fast movement. The full 120 degree arc is inset with white metal to contrast with the brass, and features individual degree demarcations. Imagine sailing ship captains in the early 1900s using an instrument like this. This heavy brass sextant also features a solid construction and weighs almost 3 lbs.
Crafted in the style of a century ago, this sextant has a wood handle, as well as brass stand legs for upright easy display. All in all, would make a great gift for the sextant enthusiast and novice alike. Certainly a fine item for the sextant, brass, nautical, surveying, engineering instrument, militaria, or other collection - shines on display.
This detailed item measures approximately 7 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 3 1/4 inches high. Notice we give both Swing measurment and physical size. Sextants are measured by arm swivel length ( pivot to dial ), many are sold giving pnysical size only causing many buyers to think they are ordering a larger sextant than they will receive.
